Who would want to join a national tour featuring this bunch:
– For the left, Weyman Bennett of the SWP, Christine Blower and Kevin Courtney of the NUT, Aaron Kiely of UAF, stopper Chris Nineham, Shelly Asquith and Malia Bouattia of the NUS, Lee Jasper of “Respect”, Sally Hunt of the UCU, and Roger McKenzie of UNISON. Among others.
A sample from Chris Nineham.
We want to create the biggest, broadest anti-war movement that brings together pacifists, that brings together the Muslim communities, that brings together people also who support the resistance movements in the Middle East.
– Turning to the Islamist camp, the tour features Azad Ali, Moazzam Begg, Shakeel Begg, Sulaiman Ghani, Ifhat Shaheen, Mohammed Kozbar, Ajmal Masroor, the MCB, Jahangir Mohammed, and Ismail Patel.
Shakeel Begg for the camp:
…[it is] inspiring to be amongst some of our brothers who made hijra [migration] in the path of Allah, who made jihad in the path of Allah, who suffered in the path of Allah, our brothers from Guantanamo Bay. May Allah have mercy upon them, may Allah accept all their good deeds and all their fasting especially in the month of Ramadan, and may Allah grant them jannah [paradise].
You couldn’t ask for a finer assembly to represent deranged and thuggish politics, much of the worst of Islamist extremism, and apologists for terrorism.
So it is no surprise to learn that this group is joining them: Labour MPs Diane Abbott, Rushanara Ali, Vicky Foxcroft, Rupa Huq, Imran Hussain, Rachael Maskell, Cat Smith, and Catherine West.
