The Colbert Report signs off

Readers who weren’t fans of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” (which ended its nine-year run Thursday) should consider themselves lucky.

If clips from the show had been easier to view outside the US, I would have posted them here practically every day.

Stephen Colbert will take over hosting “The Late Show” from David Letterman next year. He will no longer be “in character” (a dim-witted rightwing blowhard), so it should be interesting.

Anyway, if you have the capability and the desire, you can watch the final episode of “The Colbert Report” here.

The goodbye from US soldiers in Afghanistan was a nice touch. Colbert did a series of shows for American troops in Iraq in 2009, during which he got his head shaved.

Here’s an unofficial list of the guests who joined in singing “We’ll Meet Again.”
