Is Ajmal Masroor an Extremist?

This is a cross-post by Harry Black

I expected a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast with my wife and kids with the TV on in the background talking about what we are going to do in the afternoon, when my attention was diverted to a very angry Ajmal Masroor on the BBC Sunday morning programme – The Big Questions.

Thank heavens for Sky +, I was able to rewind and watch just what it was that made him so angry. It was his nemesis, the exposer of Islamist extremists – Sam Westrop from Stand for Peace.

In last Sunday’s programme, the question “Is Islamism the Biggest Threat to the Modern World?” was posed and a number of “experts” were invited to discuss this question. As one would expect with such a question, the debate became overcome with passion, lies and an opportunity for people to accuse others of inaccuracies.

In the programme at 9.30 mins, Ajmal accuses the other side of the debate (which included Muslims) of confusing the word Islam with Islamism – an inaccuracy as Nicky Campbell pointed out to him at 9.36.

At 12.06 minutes, Masroor starts to warm up and there are clear signs that he is agitated and he wants in again at 14.26 mins when he tries to interrupt Dr Usama Hassan whilst he was being quite sensible.

But the party really got warmed up at 18.00 mins when Ajmal Masroor made a direct allegation that Sam Westrop is an extremist because he had
“recently written an article calling me (Masroor) an extremist”.

So the new definition by Masroor of an extremist is now anyone that calls him an extremist – unbelievable!

This then prompted Nicky Campbell to ask Sam Westrop why he thinks, that Ajmal Masroor is an extremist (20.09 mins)? Westrop then goes on to cite Masroor’s support for Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, and Jammat al Islami as well Masroor’s claims that:
“the Mumbai attacks were the work of the Americans.”

“Shadowy forces were at work in the Westgate shopping massacre by Boko Haram”

Masroor claimed that he “never said that” and the reply was that Westrop has the proof and that he would post the evidence on his website Stand for Peace straight after the show. Masroor’s face paints a picture at 20.43 mins and he claims that the proof is out of context and that he was merely asking questions as to:

“Who was responsible for this? Who was responsible for that?”

At 21.23 mins, Westrop goes on to cite that Masroor claimed that:

“The Hamas leader as an honest and great man”

A point that Masroor confirmed with anger and vigour and that the:

“Hamas leader is not responsible for killing anyone”

I waited eagerly for Westrop to list his evidence so that I could make up my own mind and have posted it below for all to peruse and come to your own conclusions. As far as I’m concerned he’s a raving lunatic and hence not surprised he ran as a Lib Dem – the party that seems to attract all the loons these days and welcomes illiberals with open arms.

Ajmal Masroor

Ajmal Masroor describes himself as an Imam, broadcaster and politician. Although Masroor advertises himself as a moderate voice, he propagates some of the usual conspiracy theories peddled by extreme Islamist groups.

Masroor resigned as a parliamentary candidate in 2005 when it was discovered that he had been posting on the forum of the anti-Semitic Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK.

He is a presenter on the Islam Channel, a television station that has been censured by Ofcom for advocating marital rape and whose CEO is a convicted terrorist.

Masroor is also a spokesman for the Harrow Central Mosque, whose website promotes a plethora of Jamaat-e-Islami and Muslim Brotherhood groups.

Support for the Palestinian terror group Hamas

“I discovered that the Prime Minister of Gaza lives in one of these refugee camps. He and his family have lived with the refugees here in Gaza for a long time. While his counterpart in West Bank lives in luxury and palatial home. The difference between true and honest leader and crook and criminal one is that one is loved by his people naturally and the other insists on being loved. One lives with his or her people while the other lives in fortresses surrounded by security personnel.”

CIA responsible for Mumbai attacks

“Do you remember the Mumbai terror attack? In November 2008 a group of terrorists rampaged through the streets and hotels of the financial capitol of India Mumbai, shooting at people, killing and wounding more than 300 innocent men and women. The mastermind behind that attack was David Headley, a US citizen, double agent and convicted drugs dealer, who was planted as the agent provocateur to encourage even more violence and terror in Pakistan thus justify American rotten foreign policies for the region. American intelligence services knew about the imminent attack and did nothing to stop it…”

Islamists framed for Westgate shopping mall massacre
“…The truth of who is pulling the strings and who are the real masterminds behind these attacks needs to be uncovered. Who are the paymasters of these bloodthirsty monsters need to be unveiled? Who are the real terrorists?”

Support for Muslim Brotherhood:

“Morsi was not prepared to prostitute himself or sell Egypt to the vultures and the thugs from Mubarak era. This was Morsi’s primary crime!
“What followed was a systematic vilification of an elected President by the media, which is owned by a handful of people, 95% of them belong to the Mubarak’s close circle of friends. Any opposition media has been taken off air and even Al-Jazeera has been given its marching orders. The secularist media has hyped up the smallest problem and created hysteria amongst the Egyptian masses. It constantly attacked Islam, the Muslim brotherhood and the President.”
