I was playing this song with a band just past midnight on Sunday. It was a Joe Strummer tribute night, and a lot of the audience were old and young punks. When they heard the first bars, they put their arms around each other, swayed and sung every word. We in the band got tearful.
It’s a transatlantic song so suitable for this site.
