France,  Syria

The nation formerly known as cheese-eating surrender monkeys

The BBC reports:

France is still ready to take action in Syria alongside the US, despite UK MPs blocking British involvement, President Francois Hollande has said.

He said a military strike within days could not be ruled out.

US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel said after the UK vote that Washington would continue to seek a coalition.
…..
Mr Hollande told Le Monde newspaper that the UK vote, in which parliament rejected a government motion supporting the principle of military action, made no difference to France’s position.

As for the point of even a limited strike in Syria, and on other matters, Israel’s former military intelligence chief Amos Yadlin is worth paying attention to.

Finally, watch this— reportedly the result of an incendiary attack by a fighter jet on a school playground in northern Syria (the rebels don’t use fighter jets). But, hey– at least it wasn’t chemical weapons.
