Terrorism

Unite Against Fascism and Shakeel Begg

There is no good time to team up with Islamist extremists. There are also especially bad times to make such a foolish move. The aftermath of the terrorist murder in Woolwich is one of those times.

Yet this is exactly what the self-styled “anti-racists” of Unite Against Fascism (UAF) say they will do tomorrow in Woolwich. One of the scheduled speakers at their rally will be Shakeel Begg, who is closely associated with the Lewisham Islamic Centre.

Begg is a hate preacher with a special interest in terrorist suspects and convicts. Have a look at him here at a conference staged by Cageprisoners, the terrorist support group. Begg finds former Guantanamo inmates “inspiring” and worthy of a divine salute.

“…[it is] inspiring to be amongst some of our brothers who made hijra [migration] in the path of Allah, who made jihad in the path of Allah, who suffered in the path of Allah, our brothers from Guantanamo Bay. May Allah have mercy upon them, may Allah accept all their good deeds and all their fasting especially in the month of Ramadan, and may Allah grant them jannah [paradise].”

You’ll see more of the same in this clip from a meeting of Hhugs, another terrorist support group. This time Begg hails jihad as “the greatest of deeds”.

Helping the families of brothers who are in prison, giving to those families, supporting those families, coming to their aid when they are in times of need and help, is like as if we are making jihad in the path of Allah. And we know jihad in the path of Allah is of the greatest of deeds that a Muslim can take part in.

On and on it goes in Mr Begg’s record. See this clip, for example, from an extremist rally at Belmarsh. He calls the prison’s terrorist inmates “brothers” and rails against their “oppressors”. Note that these are dangerous men who have been snared by the British security and legal systems, not people picked up in Afghanistan and dumped in Guantanamo.

Naturally Israel too must be targeted. According to a report in 2006, Begg has told British Muslims they should join the jihad against it.

Shakeel Begg, another radical cleric, recently urged students at Kingston University, southwest London, to wage jihad in Palestine. In a tape-recorded speech obtained by The Sunday Times, Begg, who is a Muslim chaplain at Goldsmiths College, part of London University, said: “You want to make jihad? Very good… Take some money and go to Palestine and fight, fight the terrorists, fight the Zionists.”

As for the police, they must not be helped, for they are the devil. Here he savages another preacher who spoke at a police conference.

It is ridiculously outrageous for a Muslim speaker to lure the anti-terrorism officers into using him and other religious leaders against the Muslim community. This is not to say that we should not work to prevent unlawful violence. In fact, many have been at the forefront of this work, without signing a deal with the devil, or joining any sort of alliance, be it natural or otherwise, with the brutal, cunning and oppressive anti-terrorism workforce.

Mr Begg is most certainly not working to “prevent unlawful violence”. He is stoking the very fires that have produced British terrorists time after time, while slating the brave officers fighting terror as evil people whom Muslims must shun.

This is no one off for the UAF. The far left sect has long made a point of helping such dangerous haters. In fact, one of UAF’s vice chairs is none other than Azad Ali, the notorious extremist of the Islamic Forum of Europe. Ali doesn’t even have time for democracy if it comes without sharia law.

Democracy, if it means that, you know, at the expense of not implementing the sharia, of course no one agrees with that.

The record is plain. Everyone should see UAF as part of the problem and no component of any solution.

Yet Labour figures Len Duvall AM and Jennette Arnold AM are scheduled to speak at the UAF rally tomorrow. If they actually do, they are idiots.
