It’s taken him a lot longer than it should have, but Richard Seymour of Lenin’s Tomb has publicly denounced the leadership of the party of which he is a member.
Many of the things he finally dares to say about the Socialist Workers Party have been obvious to outside observers for years.
Apparently Seymour believes the battle for the soul (such as it is) of the SWP can still be won from the inside, and he did not announce his resignation. (He still doesn’t grasp that a party based on Leninist principles is rotten at its core, and not just because of a bad set of leaders.) But based on past practice, he faces almost certain expulsion for what he has written.
And guess what: he is capable of writing clearly and passionately when he wants to.
