Mitt’s foreign tour off to inauspicious start

As Mitt Romney sets out to burnish his foreign policy credentials with his UK-Israel-Poland tour (it would be nice if he also visited American troops somewhere, as Barack Obama did in Kuwait during his pre-election foreign tour in 2008), he has, in the course of a few days, managed to piss off Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr, London Mayor Boris Johnson and Prime Minister David Cameron.

The “middle of nowhere” jibe is a reference to Romney’s role in overseeing the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah– which admittedly is smaller and more isolated than London.

Who knew that bashing Romney would become a political winner for Conservatives in the UK?

Update: Boris Johnson invokes “a guy called Mitt Romney” (and not in a nice way) to fire up a crowd in London.
