I was appalled to read Debbie Schlussel’s horrific revelations about Zayn Malik, a member of boy band One Direction.
Apparently he is an Islamist extremist who posts the most shockingly offensive tweets, such as ‘“There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is the prophet of God.”
“Keep your daughters away from Zayn Malik’s enticing jihad. With the boy band One Direction, it’s all about pimping Islam amid the deceptive visage of angelic, effeminate boys in a band. Yup, for them there is definitely One Direction: facing Mecca.”
A sobering thought. But, what is almost more sinister is the way Malik tweeted cheerful Christmas related messages, against the stricter teachings of Islam, and, on 3 June a few days before Schlussel’s revelations were published, tweeted:

Baron Cohen’s film The Dictator was accused by some viewers of Islamophobia – and was quite risqué – so is not likely to have appealed to an Islamist extremist. But don’t’ imagine we can’t see through your Taqiyaa, Zayn.
