At the beginning of a 3 week session held by the UN Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, criticised drone attacks by the US on Pakistan, and also Canada’s recent conduct with regard to public rallies. Syria, North Korea and Sri-Lanka expressed their shock and concern at Canada’s appalling violations of human rights. You can read Canada’s response here.
It seems certain that Pakistan will sail through unopposed to a seat on the Human Rights Council.
On July 2nd there will be a whole day event examining alleged abuses in the Palestinian territories. This will be chaired by – Richard Falk, endorser of Atzmon.
