The most remarkable thing about this video (apparently featuring members of Newt Gingrich’s campaign staff in New Hampshire) comes at the end, when the words “Paid for by Newt 2012” appear.
OK. Even if the only expenses were purchase or rental of Santa Claus hats, tuxedo and elf costume, I think everyone across the political spectrum can agree that it was a waste of money (not to mention campaign workers’ time) which will do absolutely nothing to advance Gingrich’s prospects of winning the Republican nomination.
So if Gingrich’s campaign is prepared to throw away campaign contributions on something like this, how can we believe his pledges not to waste taxpayers’ money if he is elected president?
