Meet Dr Ahmad Al-Dubayan, adviser to Robert Lambert’s pro-Islamist European Muslim Research Centre at the University of Exeter.
Here’s how the EMRC describes him:
Since 2001 Dr Ahmad Al-Dubuyan has been the Director General of the Islamic Cultural Centre and London Central Mosque in London. In this capacity he has been at the hub of constructive dialogue with authorities and communities to improve community relations and tackle the problem of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate crime.
In what other capacities have we heard of Dr. Al-Dubuyan?
He is the director of King Fahad Academy in London, which uses textbooks portraying Jews as monkeys/apes and Christians as pigs.
The Times reported in February 2007:
Colin Cook, who taught English at the King Fahad Academy for 18 years, alleged yesterday that pupils were taught from Arabic textbooks, which described Christians as “pigs” and Jews as “monkeys”.

In December 2006 Mr Cook was was dismissed by Ahmad al-Dubayan, the academy’s director.
Mr Cook has submitted translations of Arabic teaching material used at the academy, which he said confirmed his belief that the school is “institutionally racist”.
He said in his statement: “The schoolbooks presently in use describe Jews as ‘monkeys’ (or apes) and Christians as ‘pigs’. The textbooks apparently state that the Jews are cursed. Pupils are asked to ‘mention some repugnant characteristics of Jews’.
“The textbooks are produced by the Saudi Government (Ministry of Education). Dr al-Dubayan is a Saudi who was appointed by the Saudi Government. He is the head of the Islamic Cultural Centre (which incorporates the London Central Mosque) . . . I understand that he has diplomatic immunity as a result of his appointment, but I do not believe that the immunity should extend to his role as trustee of the academy.”
Al-Dubayan disagreed with Cook. Totally Jewish reported:
[Dr. Al-Dubayan] described Cook’s claims as “rubbish.”
Despite Dr. al-Dubayan’s protestations, these allegations were confirmed by the academy principal.
The Evening Standard reported:
The principal of an Islamic school has admitted that it uses textbooks which describe Jews as “apes” and Christians as “pigs” and has refused to withdraw them.
Dr Sumaya Alyusuf confirmed that the offending books exist after former teacher Colin Cook, 57, alleged that children as young as five are taught from racist materials at the King Fahd Academy in Acton.
In an interview on BBC2’s Newsnight, Dr Alyusuf was asked by Jeremy Paxman whether she recognised the books.
She said: “Yes, I do recognise these books, of course. We have these books in our school. These books have good chapters that can be used by the teachers. It depends on the objectives the teacher wants to achieve.”

The Government was urged this week to investigate the London Central Mosque in Regents Park after it was revealed shocking DVDs calling Jews “evil” and Judaism an “abominated, filthy, disgusting gross belief”, were still being sold on the site, despite promises last year it would take action against such material.
It also emerged that preachers at the facility were labelling Christian teachings “vile and disgusting”, while students were being told to “hate those who hate Allah”.”I believe the Home Office should consider whether these statements breach the law,” said Louise Ellman, the MP for Liverpool Riverside. And describing the revelations as “extremely disturbing”, she urged Muslim authorities to take steps “to stop this incitement”.
Channel 4’s Dispatches, broadcast on Monday night, secretly filmed a women-only prayer circle at the Mosque, at which the teacher called for congregants to “kill, kill” homosexuals, adulterers and those who convert from Islam.
The film was a follow up to the documentary Undercover Mosque, which last year found similar examples of fundamentalism at a number of British mosques. At one, Jews were described as “enemies of Islam”.
When the original documentary was made, the Mosque’s Director said they would “look into the materials in question”. Dr Ahmed Al Dubayan said that “appropriate action will be taken if required in accordance with all relevant U.K. legislation”.
However, there is little sign of any change. Customers can still purchase recordings which say of the Jews: “Their time will come, like every other evil person’s time will come”.
One DVD calls Jews “the leader of pride and arrogance”. Another preaches that disbelievers are “evil, wicked, mischievous people”.
The programme also uncovered books at the UK branch of the Muslim World League which included lines such as “the last day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them”.
It is rather worrying – perhaps revealing – that two separate institutions directed by al-Dubayan publish hate material.
One can only wonder, at what advice Al-Dubayan gives to the EMRC.
