Inminds In Depth

This is a cross post from Marc’s Words

Yesterday I posted about a group called Inminds (short for Innovative Minds) a group who thinks that the Al Aksa Intifada was a really good idea and whose boss loves attending Jewish/Israeli events in London.

Just in case anyone was thinking that these guys are harmless nutters let’s look at their site in greater detail. Frankly there’s nothing inherently wrong with having a problem with Israeli government policies it would be ridiculous to say that there was. It’s calling for and celebrating the killing of Israeli civilians which is what is inherently disgusting. Those who destroy themselves in order to kill others don’t deserve glorification by anyone and yet on Inminds we find just that.

In the West Bank during the Al Aksa Intifada there were posters everywhere depicting the glory of suicide bombers. With pride, stills from Israeli news, showing the carnage caused by the bombers were printed on these posters. They were underneath a massive picture of the bomber carrying a weapon and calling on others to do the same.

Inminds love glorifying terror attacks, I know that they do because they told me. They told you too and anyone else who would care to listen. Some people don’t care to listen, some people just hear what they want to hear.

At the start of the Al Aksa Intifada an 18 year old Palestinian girl walked into a supermarket and blew herself up. Other than herself she killed 2 others, the security guard who attempted to stop her and 17 year old Rachel Levy. Follow the link below to see what Inminds have to say about this attack. Brace yourself, you will see the true message of Inminds. Remember, no one is listening to them, people like those at the meeting celebrating the anniversary of the Al Aksa Intifada are seeing what they want to see. Unlike at Inminds who simply advocate more of the same.

Here is the second paragraph:

“In July, Aayaat was to hold her wedding like any other girl in the world, yet she insisted on being a bride in the suit of blood in which only the likes of her are wed, in order to bring pride to her Palestinian people by succeeding to kill and injure tens of Zionist occupiers in a successful heroic operation undertaken by a girl in the heart of the Zionist entity.”

They go on to say:

Martyr al-Akhras was keen on collecting all the names and pictures of martyrs, particularly martyrdom bombers, and dreamt of becoming, like them.

Her 10 year old sister at the time purportedly said that:

She continued: “Blessed he her martyrdom, for she deserves it for her bravery, and I pledge to her that I will take the path of martyrdom, for we are all martyrs in the making.”

Naturally her fiance was also bowled over, reportedly saying that:

‘I wished to accompany her in her heroic operation, and to become martyrs together. May she be blessed, and I pray that Allah enables me to join her soon!”

The spiel rounds off with the following ‘inspirational’ message:

Palestine’s bride Aayaat al-Akhras will remain an example for every Palestinian woman and man looking for security among the rubble of the massacres of murderer Sharon, and giving his blood and future as a price for this security.

According to Newsweek magazine her family were not so supportive of her murder, particularly her fiance:

Akhras’ fiance did not approve of violence and would have stopped her if he had known her plan. “May God forgive her for what she has done,” he reportedly said. Other members of Akhras’ family, which was educated and moderate, condemned suicide bombings as morally wrong.”

Actually it’s quite tough to gauge what the real truth is here as she did have a number of relatives involved in terror attacks. One possible source of her motivation was an interesting one not mentioned by Inminds:

Another motivation may have been fear of honor killing. The Jerusalem police investigation found fetal remains; the pathology identified Ahras to have been pregnant.

This particular attack touched a lot of hearts in Israel due to the parallels of an 18 year old Palestinian girl murdering a 17 year old Israeli girl even leading to a documentary being made about it.

“Rachel Levy’s mother and Akhras’ mother have both featured in the HBO documentary To Die in Jerusalem about the effects of the bombing on their families.”

Read the Wiki page, which paints an entirely different picture of the results of her devastation

Okay so the thing is that these guys are a bunch of nutters sitting on the fringe and no one listens to them, right? I’ll buy that, but what happens when Inminds are here providing posters for those boycotting Ahava in London. Does the woman holding this flag actually know the kinds of vitriol that these guys are spewing?  How long does it take from being on the fringe of the movement and carrying a flag to becoming twisted enough to spew the same vitriol yourself?
