Dr Abdullah Hakim Quick is engaging in the form of obfuscation and evasion that we’re used very to by now: “I was taken out of context… um, I was only quoting scripture… blah, blah, blah…”
So, let’s remind ourselves of this key bit of audio. Dr Quick, in a clearly modern context, responds to the idea that a group of gay Muslims has started up by reminding them that the punishment is death. “Put my name in the paper,” he says defiantly.
