The pro-Alternative vote campaign is losing ground, according to the latest YouGov poll that shows opposition to AV growing.
The poll says 41% of people support current system in contrast with 32% in favour of AV and don’t knows at 18%. The lead is up three points since the last poll conducted before Christmas where support for the current system stood at 39%, with 33% in favour of changing to AV. The don’t knows stood at 21%.
With Labour heading for a victory in the Oldham and Saddleworth by-election the voting public appear in no mood to do Nick Clegg any favours on AV and back his pet project, which falls far short of proper or proportional reform of our electoral system. Neither Clegg nor AV deserve our support.
