Bob From Brockley has correctly designated Canadian journalist and blogger Terry Glavin as one of several leftwingers who are “not influential enough.” (He also lists Eric Lee of LabourStart and TULIP, another excellent choice.)
Two recent posts by Terry– one about the struggle for women’s rights in Afghanistan and another on the all-too-respectful treatment of Ahmadinejad on his annual visits to the United Nations– remind us of his rare ability to cut through the luxuriant overgrowth of “anti-imperialist” rhetoric and get to the heart of what it means (or ought to mean) to be on the democratic Left.
