More harm than good

Because we were among the media that hyped Austin Heap and his “Haystack” software– which was supposed to help Iranians get around Internet censorship without detection– we should also report that the software turned out to be highly flawed and in fact endangered the dissidents it was supposed to protect.

There are, as always in such instances, lessons to be learned.
