The remarkable Judge Bathurst-Norman

Is Judge George Bathurst-Norman who essentially instructed a jury to acquit five anti-Israel “activists” who caused £180,000 damage to an arms factory the same Judge Bathurst-Norman who sentenced a man to three months in prison for beheading a statue of Margaret Thatcher?

And is it true that Judge Bathurst-Norman (who was born in 1939 in Mandate-era Palestine, presumably to a British official) was brought out of retirement to hear the case, as Tony Greenstein claims in his exultant post about the acquittals?

If so, why?

Update:
Bathurst-Norman has sat part-time in retirement since 2005.
