Al Muhajiroun, in its various incarnations are banned under the Terrorism Act 2000.
This is what happened, this Tuesday, when the Royal Anglian Regiment were awarded the Freedom of the Borough in Barking and Dagenham.
The first set of demonstrators call themselves Muslims Against Crusades. Have a look at them. They are Al Muhajiroun, of course.
Inevitably, the EDL turns up. There is a scuffle. It is hugely upsetting. Nobody is seriously injured – but that is a result of some rather heavy policing.
The thing is, this event should not have occurred. Al Muhajiroun announced their intention to hold a rally. They posted videos of themselves – known Al Muhajiroun members – calling for it. The police could, and indeed should, have arrested them under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Why didn’t they?
