Daniel Pipes– ever on the alert for disturbing news about Muslims anywhere and everywhere– writes about the troubling tendency of Muslim women to win Western beauty pageants. (It seems the winner of the latest Miss USA contest is a Muslim woman from Michigan.)
Hell, even Miss Israel has been a Muslim, although Pipes doesn’t mention that.
Of course women who are willing to sashay around in bikinis, and thus violate Quranic injunctions against immodesty, can’t be real Muslims. Or can they? That great scholar of Islam Pipes has no problem calling them Muslims. So maybe they are. I get so confused sometimes.
