This morning, following a 999 call, my mother was rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis. As the paramedics were lifting her into the back of the ambulance, my father turned to one and said:
“I blame the Tories for this.”
This was the funniest thing that happened today until Adam Boulton of Sky News clashed with the inimitable Alastair Campbell live on Fox Sky News.
Campbell is bang on. I’ve watched Sky News for the last few days and Adam Boulton has perfected the art of incorrectly calling events and today nearly self-combusted following Gordon Brown’s dignified exit speech, claiming that a “secret No.10 cabal were playing politics with the nation’s future”.
Whatever happens in the next few days, watching this Murdoch meltdown has put a smile on my face.
