antisemitism

Look Who’s Talking

How dare George Galloway invoke antisemitism in the name of his filthy politics. Have a look:

The same sleight of hand was in play a century ago, when old religious prejudices against Jews became fused with anti-immigration rhetoric and transformed into a prejudice directed at an ethnic, cultural group, which increasingly became defined as that scientifically inaccurate category – race.

It is no exaggeration to say that you can pore over parliamentary debates, politicians’ speeches and media exposes a century ago in London’s East End and, by substituting Muslim for Jew, find exact parallels with today’s prejudiced ravings.

This from a man who defended the blood libel of Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom, even resorting to a vile Mengele slur:

I met the correspondent responsible for the story months ago and rigorously questioned him about it. I was not satisfied, and didn’t use the information. The man was offended and I owe him an apology.

Israel has admitted this evil, wicked crime and declared it no longer practises it.

While it is to their credit that they have stopped it and even more creditable that at least within their own people robust freedom of the press and parliament has allowed the truth to come out, there is little evidence of national soul searching of how such a thing could happen.

Still less of anyone being held accountable for playing mini-Mengele on Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

What happens when people who really are concerned about antisemitism speak up? Galloway abuses them. Have a look at this:

George Galloway is a walking insult to genuine anti-racists.

UPDATE

If you want to see British Galloway fans doing their bit for hatred, read this post at “Socialist Unity” by antisemitic thug John Wight. He speaks up for terrorists once again, and boycotts too:

Make no mistake, pitiful as it is in relative terms, Palestinian resistance in the face of such wanton cruelty is both morally and legally justified. Equally justified, and increasingly necessary, is the international boycott campaign, which continues to grow and gain traction as more and more people around the world awaken to the injustice being perpetrated against the Palestinian people.

He kisses fellow thug Galloway’s feet:

It is often said that you can judge a man by who his friends are. When it comes to politics, however, a more accurate measure is provided by the enemies that a person manages to accumulate. By this reckoning George Galloway is undoubtedly without peer.

But just as George Galloway knows that he has amassed considerable enemies, it’s important that he knows he also enjoys considerable support. This is why efforts to return the three Respect candidates to parliament at the upcoming general election must constitute a short term priority for the left in this country. Beyond that, it is vital that support for Viva Palestina becomes a cause celebre for socialists, progressives, anti-imperialists, and every person of conscience and consciousness for as long as it takes to break the siege of Gaza.

He finishes this way:

The cause of the Palestinian people is the cause of humanity in our time.

Ah, we’ve been here before. It’s Humanity v. Jews.

Somebody using the name “John Wight” began posting responses in the comments box on the Engage website. He linked to a website called codoh.com – the ‘Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust’. Anybody can see that the call for ‘open debate on the Holocaust’ is a far-right antisemitic call. It occurred to us that somebody was trying to get John Wight into trouble by dishonestly posting in his name.

Later, the ‘John Wight’ poster wrote a whole antisemitic paragraph:

“The state of Israel is a hydra-headed monster, comprising Zionist ethnic cleansers, US imperialists, and Arab collaborationist regimes. Arrayed against this monster are the forces of human progress.”
