I shall be representing Harry’s Place and the making comments on the blogosphere and other matters in relation to Iran at the following event hosted by the Omar Khayyam Society at SOAS:
Iran Crisis – The Roundtable
In this roundtable formatted discussion, the focus will be on the external media coverage of the Iran crisis, including both the nuclear and civil-rights protests. The debate will attempt to look at how news is currently generated from Twitter and YouTube, and the changing nature of attaining news coverage from regions such as Iran – both the problems and the solutions.
I have been fortunately selected to appear in the following line up:
James Denselow, from Guardian (Writer on Middle East & Security Issues);
Damien McElroy, from The Telegraph (Foreign Affairs Correspondent);
Tim Marshall, from Sky News (Foreign Affair Editor);
Michael Ezra, from Harry’s Place, (Contributing Blogger).
The event is being held at the following date, time and location
Date: Tuesday, 09 March 2010
Time: 6.00 pm- 8.00 pm
Location: V111, Vernon Square (SOAS), Penton Rise, London WC1X 9EW
NOTE: This is the Vernon Square location of SOAS near Kings Cross and not the main SOAS location in Bloomsbury.
The event is free and there will be plenty of time for contributions from the floor from those that attend. Do come along and, if you do, please introduce yourself at the end.
