The Centre for Social Cohesion and Nothing British have today released a new report entitled Blood & Honour: Britain’s Far-Right Militants (PDF).
The culmination of six months’ work by Edmund Standing and Alexander Meleagrou-Hitchens, the report highlights the extremist ideology promoted by the ‘Blood & Honour’ international neo-Nazi movement and offers a number of recommendations, including calling on the Home Office to consider proscription of the group in the UK under counter-terror laws (a proposal supported by Shadow Security Minister Baroness Neville-Jones).
The report includes a Forward written by Denis MacShane, MP, author of Globalising Hatred: The New Antisemitism.
MacShane writes:
Like their jihadist counterparts, neo-Nazis are filled with hate, are conspiratorial and are prepared (and determined) to use extreme violence to achieve their political aims. If we want to reduce the threat we face from far-right extremism, it is imperative that new systems be put in place, allowing pre-emptive strikes against this budding threat.
