From a BBC interview (17:35) with Gordon Thomas, author of “Gideon’s Spies,” a book about the Mossad:
They have a whole backup system called asynum(?). These are the people who are local residents, Jewish people, who will help the Mossad. And there’s estimated to be in the world about half a million, some say a million, I tend to say about a half million from what I’ve learned from Mossad people.
Telegraph blogger Douglas Murray notes:
That would mean about one in every dozen Jewish people worldwide is a secret assistant to assassins.
Now I must have more than a dozen or so Jewish friends. So which is it? Maybe I know two? It makes you think doesn’t it?
The next time I am at a friend’s child’s bar mitzvah the likelihood is that on at least 10 separate occasions during the day I’ll be helping myself at the buffet beside, or dancing opposite, someone who secretly helps in assassinations. Which will certainly make me more circumspect about my dance moves, not to mention barging in at the buffet queue.
Now I know you’re wondering: am I part of this vast network of Jewish assassination-enablers?
It does seem likely, doesn’t it? Especially since I lived in Israel for a number of years and now write for a notorious Zionist blog.
On the other hand, if I were part of the Mossad network, wouldn’t it be utter folly to raise that possibility in such a public manner and potentially blow my cover?
But wait– by publicly raising the possibility that I am part of the network, perhaps I am lulling Israel’s enemies into assuming that I am not part of the network.
I know nothing about Gordon Thomas’s journalistic credentials, but is it possible he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about?
