Reporting for the Daily Telegraph, Nick Allen states:
Britain hits back at Argentina attempts to ‘blockade’ Falklands
Britain has rejected an attempt by Argentina to effectively blockade the Falkland Islands following an escalation of a diplomatic row over lucrative oil drilling.
There was a furious reaction in London after Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the Argentine President, issued a decree that all ships heading to or from the Falklands must apply for permits before entering her country’s waters.
Nick Allen has obtained comment from a few people on this development, but sadly not from the one person that many in Britain would like to hear from. What would Kelvin Mackenzie say?
Update
No longer Kelvin Mackenzie at the helm, but we do have a headline from The Sun:
Falklands oil argy-bargy sparks 1982 re-run
The Sun adds:
A POWER-PACKED Navy warship has sailed to the South Atlantic in a re-run of the 1982 Falklands conflict.
