Thursday February 11 (22 Bahman in the Persian calendar) is the 31st anniversary of the beginning of Iran’s Islamic Republic. Traditionally it is marked in the streets of Iran with demonstrations by regime loyalists.
This year, however, huge numbers of Iranians are expected to risk imprisonment, injury or death to demonstrate against the regime’s brutal repression of freedom, especially since the fraudulent presidential election of last June.
Demonstrations in support of the Iranian freedom fighters are planned in the coming days in cities throughout Europe and the US. Iranians living in the West frequently wonder why relatively few non-Iranians join them in their anti-regime protests. Here’s your chance to provide them much-needed and much-appreciated solidarity.
