This is going to be fun:
Members of the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee are seeking advice on the “best club” to go to in London as part of their ongoing inquiry in to [cocaine] the Class A drug.
Keith Vaz, the Labour MP and committee chairman, will lead a group of 13 other MPs but insisted it was “not our Christmas party”.
But one police source warned the MPs could be due a surprise as it is likely many have not stepped foot in a club for three decades.
Mr Vaz said he wanted the groups of MPs to see ‘everything’ – warts and all.He added: “We are obviously looking to see ‘everything’ in action.”
But the police source said: “They might be in for a bit of a shock.
“Some of these clubs are real rave ups with people doing all sorts.
“I imagine some of these MPs haven’t been to a club since the 70s – and it’s a long way from the Bee Gees and Abba these days.”
I recommend The Hoist.
