Yes, it is barely worth a mention when the Daily Mail trots out some bigoted nonsense. While the tabloids have a rather revolting history of homophobia, it has mostly been toned down in recent years. It was therefore quite a shock to read such naked antigay bile from DM Columnist “Ephraim Hardcastle” (a pseudonym for DM journalist Peter McKay, apparently) in response to Tory blogger Iain Dale‘s decision to stand as an MP.
Overtly gay Tory blogger Iain Dale has reached the final stage of parliamentary selection for Bracknell, telling PinkNews: ‘I hope any PinkNews readers who live in Bracknell will come to the open primary on October 17 to select their new candidate.
You don’t even have to be a Conservative to attend.’
