Polarized politics, American style: birthers, truthers and the anti-Christ

I know it’s wisest to take polls like this with a grain or two of salt, but a recent survey in New Jersey produced some creepy results:

–One out of three conservatives believe Barack Obama either is or could be the anti-Chirst.

–One third of Republicans are convinced that Obama was born outside the United States, while another 19 percent are undecided on the matter.

–Nearly one third of Democrats think George W. Bush had advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks and another 19 percent aren’t sure.

As Eric Kleefeld writes at the liberal Talking Points Memo:

So that’s only 48% of Jersey Republicans who definitively are not Birthers, and 49% of Dems who are officially not Truthers. Don’t you just love our polarized politics?

Update: And here’s the possible anti-Christ himself in good fighting form before the AFL-CIO convention in Pittsburgh:
