Some very exciting news from the SWP/Respect/Left List.
Now that the Jamaat-e-Islami and Muslim Brotherhood faction have split into Galloway’s Respect Renewal, the SWP can go back to pretending to care about gays again.
We have a float at the Pride Parade 2008!
Respect/Left List have a float and a walking group on this year’s Pride Parade in London. This event is in Baker Street from 11 – 2:30pm on Saturday, July 5th – just under two weeks from now.
Last year was our first time having a Respect/Left List float on the parade and it proved to be a huge success.
The theme for this year’s parade is Fairytales, Myths and Legends and our float will be based on Robin Hood. There will be Maid Marians, Robin Hoods, merry men and a Sherriff of Nottingham (based on Boris Johnson) all dancing to great music. So come along in your fancy dress or just borrow a Robin Hood hat from us when you get there!
The parade will be loads of fun and a great oppurtunity to get our message of People before Profit out to thousands of people.If you’d like to be involved in either the walking group or the float don’t hesitate to reply to this email.
I’m surprised that the SWP have decided to use their participation in Pride to take a swing at Boris Johnson. I’d have thought they’d be much more preoccupied with their own struggles with the Islamists and Gallowayites, which resulted in them losing their party.
The SWP should create a dazzling pageant, illustrating:
- A lapidation of an adulterer, with George Galloway casting the first stone.
- The Muslim Brotherhood/RESPECT’s Anas Altikriti collapsing a wall on a cowering gay man.
- SWP cadre being tossed off the top of tower blocks by Cllr Abjol Miah.
- A Left List candidate winning an election (well, the theme is “fairytales”)
Sounds a hoot.
I wonder if Respect Renewal will have a float too. If so, lets hope they put them next to each other.
