“The most loathsome of people”

(Warning: includes links to a disgusting neo-Nazi website.)

In a post entitled “Nazis recommend Harry’s Place,” Bob Pitt of Islamophobia Watch wrote that “the white supremacist forum Stormfront evidently finds much to admire at the self-styled voice of the ‘decent left.'”

This was based on a link on a Stomfront forum to a recent post here by Neil D. Neil’s post discussed the efforts of a particular British Muslim, Faizul Aqtab Siddiqi, to extend his version of sharia law to all British Muslims. It was a defense of the right of UK Muslims not to live under Siddiqi’s version of sharia– which, one would think, even an Islamophobia watcher like Pitt could get behind. The link at Stormfront was posted by someone calling himself “Gray Ghost, SF British Correspondent,” who did not offer any recommendation of or admiration for Harry’s Place

As it turns out, in an earlier Stormfront forum, “Gray Ghost” linked to another Harry’s Place post– this one urging support for a day of action against the BNP in Barking and Dagenham. This drew some angry comments about us from his fellow Stormfronters– including my favorite, from someone called “Doriot”:

I believe this guy [i.e., our Harry] is the most loathsome of people- a pro-iraq war leftist.

And if you think about it, from the perspective of a white nationalist, we really are the most loathsome of people– certainly more so than an “anti-imperialist” leftist who (again from a white-nationalist perspective) may be loathsome in his own way, but at least has the sense to oppose foreign wars for the sake of what the Stormfronters charmingly call “mud people.”

Update: As has been noted before, the neo-Nazi right and fringe elements of the Left tend to speak more or less the same language in blaming the Iraq invasion on the pernicious influence of “Zionists”– although the neo-Nazis generally feel less of a need to use that euphemism.
