At the British Library on Monday June 11:
Award-winning journalist Yvonne Ridley is well known in the Muslim world for her outspoken views and defence of Islam. While senior reporter of the Sunday Express , she was captured by the Taliban on an undercover assignment in Afghanistan, following which she reverted to Islam; a decision which endeared her to the Muslim community in Britain. Now an author, TV presenter, humanitarian and promoter of women’s rights, Yvonne talks to Madeleine Bunting about her extraordinary experience.
Yvonne Ridley is a political editor and regular media commentator on Muslim-related issues. Madeleine Bunting is a Guardian columnist and associate editor.
Is anyone brave enough to go and report back to us?
