Obama makes it official

You can watch Barack Obama officially announce his Presidential candidacy in the Illinois state capital Springfield at 11 a.m. Eastern Time Saturday.

My respect for Obama increased after reading his memoir of his early life, “Dreams from My Father.” He writes with honesty and insight about his family, his work as a community organizer in Chicago and coming to terms with his mixed background– including an account of his first visit to his father’s home country, Kenya. Obama wrote the book before he entered politics and it’s not your typical politician’s self-promoting whitewash. It includes things that could cause him problems in his Presidential campaign– nothing that bothers me, but I’m sure his opponents will be scouring it in their tireless efforts to smear him.

Not that I’m endorsing him yet or anything…
