I won’t be blogging for the next few days.
My father, with whom I had been living and for whom I had been helping to care in recent years, died yesterday, a few days after his 93rd birthday.
Born in New York City, he was an active socialist (of the Norman Thomas variety) at City College of New York and for some years afterwards.
He moved to Washington, DC, where he met my mother and worked for the US Patent Office until his retirement in the 1970s. He continued working as a patent attorney into his late 80s.
He is survived by four children and four grandchildren.
