Over-enthusiastic publishing houses in Turkey have got into hot water with the secular government for altering school textbooks to make them more acceptable to an Islamic worldview:
In Dumas’ “Three Musketeers,” D’Artagnan while on his way to see Aramis is stopped by an old woman who explains: “You can’t see him right now. He is surrounded by men of religion. He converted to Islam after his illness.”
Aramis wasn’t the only one who got the religious makeover, young Swiss goat botherer Heidi was given a virtual burkha too:
A minister responded yesterday to the offending revisionists: “If you like Heidi, don’t try to Muslimize her; write your own Heidi book,”
