Julian Cope (in a Burka apparently) celebrates the continuing relevance of heavy metal music.
I have not heard of most of the bands that he is talking about here but little did I expect as I listened to “Smoke on the Water” for the fifth time in a row all those years ago that long hair and guitar riffs would still be in fashion when I was in terminal decline towards the bus-pass.
So what is the secret of this most smelly of musical genres, and do you have any heavy-metal related tales to tell? Been to any good Judas Priest concerts lately perhaps?
