From Life Style Extra:
Sir Ian McKellen has been named as Britain’s most influential gay.
The British actor has topped “the Pink List” – an annual ranking of gay men and women who are leaders in industry including the arts, media, politics and business.
Others on the list include Sir Elton John, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, Sir Peter Mandelson (whoops sorry Freudian slip – but it’s surely only a matter of time) and Little Britain star Matt Lucas.
Outrageous. Where on earth is Peter Tatchell? And why are there no women on the list?
On a (slightly) more serious note, does anybody really think that lists such as this actually achieve anything much? What (or who) are they for?
