Akbar Ahmad, one of the world’s leading progressive Muslim intellectuals, and a much-valued voice of reason, is giving a talk Thursday, June 22, at 7.30pm at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC on: “How to Tackle Antisemitism and Anti-Americanism in the Muslim World”. Admission is free – call 202.488.0407 to reserve a place.
I can highly recommend Professor Ahmad, who holds the Ibn Khaldun chair in Islamic Studies at the American University in DC, as a balanced and critical commentator. He has recently returned from a long trip through the Muslim world. I know that most HP readers do not live in Washington DC, but please anyway spread the word.
