From The Scotsman
JACK McConnell, the (Scottish) First Minister, was accused last night of damaging the Scottish economy after it emerged that a company had cancelled a conference in Scotland in response to his “anti-English” approach to the World Cup.
This comes hard on the heels of a report which suggests that one in three English people living in Scotland suffers some form of racial abuse as well as some quite shocking cases involving an English checkout worker who is claiming compensation for the extreme hostility she received from her Scottish bosses and also a “community safety warden” who (in the words of the Scotsman) was targeted by “racist yobs” throwing stones.
It’s just like Bannockburn all over again isn’t it?
How does that forgotten verse of the National Anthem go again?
