In response to my post about the brief appearance (and subsequent disappearance) of the word “terrorist” on the BBC website to describe Thursday’s attacks in London, a reader writes:
I wrote to a friend who works at Bush House, who said
“An email was sent round on Friday morning reminding us of ed guidelines (available on a public facing site) which say we should use word “bomber” not “terrorist”. The stories were duly changed.”
She’s not wrong.
So they were reminded to follow existing guidelines published in the public domain! What a conspiracy!
I never suggested there was a conspiracy, but I appreciate the information.
