The Daily Ablution reminds us that George Galloway is going to be the subject of an upcoming question and answer session at the Independent.
Here’s the Burgess poser to the Gorgeous one:
Mr. Galloway,
Despite frequent – and understandable – misinterpretation, your famous statement “I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability” was directed not to Saddam Hussein, as it seemed to be, but rather to the Iraqi people.
It seems that the second, less frequently reported, part of that statement could be subject to misinterpretation as well. So perhaps you could clarify just what you meant by “And I want you to know that we are with you hatta al-nasr, hatta al-nasr, hatta al-Quds. [until victory, until victory, until Jerusalem].”
Thanks!
Scott Burgess
Let’s hope Galloway suffers the same sort of victory in East London as Saddam did in Baghdad.
