A week before the election– noting the reported disappearance of 380 tons of high explosives from an Iraqi munitions depot– I wrote:
If this news managed to get out before the November 2 election (despite, I presume, the Bush administration’s best efforts), I shudder to think what we’ll learn after the election.
Here’s one thing already: US intelligence officials have determined that at least 4,000 shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile systems in Iraq’s prewar arsenals cannot be accounted for– far more than originally thought.
