The BBC reports that the Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh, who made a the film “Submission” with the liberal Dutch MP, apostate, and Somali refugee Ayaan Hirsi Ali which tackled the subject of the position of women in Islam, has been shot dead. Both Van Gogh and Ayaan Hirsi Ali have previously received death threats.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been under police protection since the transmission of the film.
