Back in the 1990s Ed Schultz was one of a legion of bombastic conservative talk-radio hosts. He’s still a bombastic talk-radio host, only now he’s a liberal– describing himself as a “gun-toting, meat-eating progressive.” He discussed his political transformation in an interview on the National Public Radio program “On the Media.”
Meanwhile Al Franken has signed on to a larger effort to create a liberal talk-radio presence. He’ll be in head-to-head competition (so to speak) with his longtime nemesis, rightwing superstar and recovering drug addict Rush Limbaugh.
